Based on several meetings held by DP World with a vast majority of Forwarder and BCO accounts, the priority areas has been identified. Below you can see more details on this:
What’s in it for us?
1. Vessel Appointment System : (VAS)Truck waiting time been raised as the biggest concern from customers and there will be an online reservation system to enable smooth and timely process. Customers can also get appointment in the terminal if online was not done.
2. Customs office in the terminal: There is a customs office inside the terminal and customers/customs brokers can complete their customs issue with this office.
3. Distance to the customs: Compared to Evyap terminal, Yar?mca is much closer to the customs. It is less than 1 km distance, compared to around 3 km right now.
4. 1 Fix X-ray machine: Capable doing 100 scan per hour with fast scanning method. Right now we have capability around 40 scan per day in other terminals.
5. 100 truck parking area: Free parking area in the terminal for 30 min. If the driver comes early for the appointment or something goes wrong, they don’t need to drive inside the terminal hence increase the traffic.
6. 500 teu capacity area for reverting import containers for export as empty
7. Working hours: Standard working hour is 07:00-23:00. If needed and communicated in advance (max 1 day in advance, latest same day noon time) , terminal is capable for longer working hours.
8. Closed CFS area: If the customers directly want to sell their goods, they can do this in the CFS area. Closed CFS is 4000 sqm and has 9+9 gates which is available for crossdoc.
9. Port Stuffing area: There is open Port Stuffing area to ground 75 containers at the same time, but there isn’t any closed area for port stuffing. If needed in time, establishing closed port stuffing area will also be considered.
10. Lashing/grounding/patching services available. Customers cannot work with 3rd parties
11. 2 Main berth: Berth 1 is 430 M, Berth 2 is 465 M. Can handle 2 ultra large vessels. Berth 1 is ready and this is where George Maersk will berth. Berth 2 will be ready by around Jan’2016.
